Louise is a dedicated teacher with a drive for education and community development. In 2022, she spent 100 days in South Sudan, where she developed a deep connection with the country and its people. Inspired by her experience, she brought the idea to build a library in South Sudan to Australia. Louise is now preparing to live in South Sudan for the next three years, where she will continue to work on this project. She plays a crucial role in liaising with the team in South Sudan, generating ideas, and using her knowledge of the country to guide the committee towards their goal of building a library that will benefit the community for years to come.

Louise

Lucila

Lucila is our budget director with an enthusiasm for literature and community service. She manages the finances for the South Sudan library project and extensively researches library establishment methods in Africa. Lucila runs her church's library and has used these skills to set up the Cush Library's database. She's the one we go to for organizing practicalities like labels, crates and boxes for transport. Lucila's organisation, hands-on commitment and practical wisdom to the project are invaluable.

Nat

Although Nat has since retired from the team, we can't not mention his contributions at the commencement of the committee. Nat is a devoted teacher with a zeal for overseas missions, and served on his church's Mission Committee for many years. His is an elder in the RPCA, where he further demonstrates his love for the church.

Nat's commitment to the library project in South Sudan is evident in his extensive research and exploration of transport logistics between Australia and South Sudan. His dedication and expertise are invaluable assets to the team, driving the project forward with purpose and determination.

Sarah

Sarah is a committed professional with a master's degree in Teacher Librarianship, driven by her enthusiam for the transformative impact of reading on communities. She played a key role in developing the policy for the Cush library and is actively organizing fundraising efforts for the project. She is also the creative force behind the project's website and GoFundMe page. God willing, as part of Phase 2, Sarah hopes to travel to South Sudan to physically set up the library and train a local worker once the books arrive. Her multifaceted contributions make her an asset to the project.
